I just submitted a bug along with a patch to make double clicking a link in about:sessionrestore aka "Well, this is embarrassing." actually open the link. The only annoying thing is that you need to go under about:config to change browser.tabs.loadInBackground to "false" in order to make it open a tab in the foreground (which is really the expected behavior).

The patch is currently being reviewed and I hope that this gets into the next version of Firefox. It is definitely something that has bothered me ever since about:sessionrestore was added to Firefox.
